Charter yacht companies will ask to see proof of your previous sailing experience before renting you a charter yacht. They like to see that you have passed your qualifications and have additional sea time logged as skipper of a vessel. This proves to them that you are a competent and safe skipper and know what you are doing!
It is good practice to fill in your sailing logbook as soon as your passage is complete. To verify the passage, get it signed by your instructor, captain, charter company or boat owner.
