Eco-Tourism – Things To Do In Grenada

Many things to do in Grenada are based in St. George.Every sailor needs a home port and we are lucky enough to say Grenada is ours! We might be biased, but we all think Grenada is one of the best islands in the West Indies. Year-round, there are so many things to do in Grenada. Trust us – there is never a dull moment on the Spice Isle. You will discover a wonderful culture, with people who are renowned for being the friendliest in the Caribbean.

Many of our students and guests book a few extra days in Grenada, either side of their sailing trip. All of the activities we recommend in Grenada are eco-friendly and promote sustainable tourism. We want our Pure Grenada to stay that way!

This is one of the best ways to meet people from all walks of life in Grenada. Grenadians, ex-pats, students, cruisers, and visitors all take part in this weekly adventure into the heart of Grenada’s communities. “Drinkers with a running problem” is the motto, and after the 1-2 hour trail is completed then the partying really starts!

You will truly see Grenada from a new point of view with the Hash House Harriers. Don’t worry about differing fitness levels as there is a walkers or a runners trail – if you are reasonably fit then you’ll be fine. Our team love going so just ask if you want to join us.

The hash location is posted every Wednesday on the Facebook Group with directions and information.

This is one of the more unusual things to do in Grenada! The interesting sculptures are inspired by local folklore, culture, and art. Your guide will brief you on the stories behind each before you go in the water. The Sculpture Park encourages new corals to grow in this area and a thriving underwater eco-system has developed over the years.

The Underwater Sculpture Park is located north of St. George’s in a Marine Protected Area. Access is by boat and visitors can choose to either scuba dive or snorkel around the collection – we recommend Phil and Helen with their team at Dive Grenada – a top PADI 5* Dive Resort.

Discover Grenada’s Culture On An Island Tour

Laura's Spice & Herb Garden in Grenada promotes sustainable tourism.

Spices, chocolate, and rum… an island tour of Grenada is simply an assault on your senses! The islands social, political, and industrial history will fascinate as you drive through old sugar plantations that now house cocoa estates and crops.

We love visiting the Belmont Estate which is home to The Grenada Chocolate Company – an agri-tourism experience second to none. Jouvay Chocolate is a super new addition by the cocoa farmers of Grenada and not one to miss either.

Other great stops include the island’s oldest working rum factory in River Antoine that produces the knock-out Rivers Rum, Laura’s Herb & Spice Gardens, and the nutmeg factories in either Grenville or Gouyave.
